KESQ sweeps July ratings

KESQ was hotter than the weather in July.  The station won every news time period in the summer ratings sweep.  “We are the desert’s news leader and these ratings prove it,” said Bob Allen, Executive Vice-President and General Manager.  The station’s newest newscast, News Channel 3 at 5:30 PM on sister station KDFX, scored its first ratings success.  “Our Spanish language newscasts also performed extremely well,” said Allen.

Working with their news and promotion consultants from Frank N. Magid Associates, the station developed a plan based on 2010 research project.  The cornerstone of the plan is a strong brand focus.  KESQ and Magid work together on an ongoing basis to re-evaluate plan and the competition.  Allen added, “The greatest credit for our ratings success goes to News Director Bob Smith and the entire News and Promotion team.”
