KIFI partners with other Idaho stations for debates
Three of Idaho’s leading television media companies have joined forces to produce and televise a series of three live state-wide general election debates. KREM-2 (CBS) covers North Idaho from Riggins to Bonners Ferry; KTVB-7 (NBC) covers Idaho from McCall to Burley; and KIFI-8 (ABC) covers East Idaho from Burley to St. Anthony. Each television station is the leading provider of news and information in its region and collectively they reach 100% of the cable systems and television homes in the state of Idaho. All debates will be commercial-free and made available for broadcast on Idaho Public Television stations.
The purpose of the debate series is to ensure open statewide debate on the important issues facing Idaho in 2010 and beyond. The coalition will produce four live general election television debates for Idaho Governor, United States Senate, United States House of Representatives Idaho District 1 and United States House of Representatives Idaho District 2. The debates will be produced on location in Caldwell, Twin Falls, and Nampa, Idaho.
