KRDO news goes to the dogs
In an effort to call attention to the plight of countless homeless animals, KRDO’s Morning News took their show to the streets – well, the parking lot, actually – for National Dog Day, August 26. Local leaders stopped by to lend their support, businesses donated food for humans and treats for pets, and listeners came by to donate, have breakfast and meet wonderful dogs looking for forever homes. The event benefited The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.
Among those stopping by to offer their support and lend a hand were Colorado Springs’ Police Chief, the District Attorney, a K-9 Officer and his canine partner and the C.E.O. of the Humane Society. CHICK-fil-A brought a seemingly endless supply of breakfast burritos, PetCo provided hundreds of goody bags for dogs and cats, and Raven’s Nest Coffee served up coffee and delicious breakfast rolls. Most importantly, the Humane Society had a wonderful response, and many dogs were adopted.
