Women’s Expo “Just her style”

Attendees of the 7th annual Josephine Expo visit booths on two floors of the Civic Arena.

St. Joseph, Mo. – The St. Joseph News-Press and its monthly women’s magazine, Josephine, held the Josephine Expo for women on Saturday, October 1, at the Civic Arena in St. Joseph.  The seventh year for the event, the theme was, “Just her style.”

“The theme not only has a fun, fashion air about it but also reflects that the Expo has something for every woman, no matter what you like,” explains Expo Co-Coordinator Carole Dunn.

More than 100 booths filled two floors of the arena, ranging from home-based businesses to area stores and service providers.  A food court offered attendees tasty treats, such as barbecue, cupcakes, gluten-free treats and wine.  Guests were entertained with a full slate of local musical acts and two fashion shows.  New to the Expo this year was Heartland Health’s Women’s Wellness Initiative, providing presenters on a variety of health topics throughout the day.

“The Expo is a chance to connect women and local businesses and to see the magazine’s readers face-to-face,” continued Ms. Dunn.  “Josephine aims to be the best girlfriend to the women of this community, and we try to provide a full day of fun for them.”

Additional sponsors of the event were Heartland Health, Hy-Vee, Dillard’s, East Hills Shopping Center, Vatterott College and Randy Reed Chevrolet.

Plans are already underway for the 2012 Josephine Expo, to be held Saturday, October 6.  For more information, contact josephineexpo@newspressnow.com or visit the website, www.newspressnow.com/josephineexpo.
