‘You go, girl’ – and they did, to the Josephine Expo

Women looking for everything from jewelry to candles to health information found just those and more at the sixth annual Josephine Expo, held October 2 in St. Joseph, Mo.  “You Go Girl” was the theme for this year’s women’s event, giving the day a slant on being sporty and active.
The Expo is coordinated by the St. Joseph News-Press, as a way to sponsor a day of fun for readers of its women’s magazine, Josephine.  Booth space was sold by the Advertising staff at the News-Press, and included merchandise from home-based buisinesses, local stores and service providers, charitable organizations and a food court.  The main stage featured live music and a fashion show, while the demo room offered lessons in Zumba, financial planning and other topics.  Attendance was reported as very good for the day’s event.

A number of employees volunteered the day of the Expo to keep things running smoothly.  Planning the entire event was a committee made up of News-Press employees Tami Clymer, Jess DeHaven, Carole Dunn, Tony Luke and Tim Weddle.  Plans are already underway for the 2011 Expo.

Women lined up in the arena lobby and out the door, waiting for the start of the Expo.
